Version v1.10 of TrappedTogether is out.

In brief, what’s new:

  • White brick houses on the second level (replacing red brick houses).
  • A brief tutorial: now players will understand why running isn’t infinite, and that they need to catch their breath before meeting zombies.

white brick house generated in level-editor and loaded in Unity

Under-the-hood changes:

The editor is finished!

I put a lot of effort into refining the level editor. Now the editor supports choosing textures for outer and inner walls, as well as roofs. Previously, to make a wall out of white brick instead of red brick, I had to create a new object. Now you can just change the texture!

A castle is coming soon

The texture selection feature was needed specifically for the castle: in the castle, many things should look different — walls, roof, floors...But the castle itself isn’t finished yet. I hope it’ll be in the next game version!

What’s coming in the future

I have lots of ideas for what can be done in the future. There’s just never enough time for everything. Here’s a quick look at my plans:

Land Map

Instead of levels, there will be cities, and players will be able to move between them.

Skills progression

XP is already in the game. All that’s left is to add character levels and allow players to improve stats upon leveling up.

Online play

Online play is not far off. In the first version, players will see other players when entering a city, and they’ll share zombies. (It would be easier if everyone had their own personal zombies... but that would look weird: players swinging bats at empty air, fighting zombies only they can see).
