31 January 2025: v1.9 released.

No New TrappedTogether Levels Yet

Yes, I promised new levels. But they’re not here yet.

I’ve already started working on the fifth level, but it required further improvements to the level editor. So, the process is taking longer and is more complex than I had hoped.

What’s New in Version 1.9?

TrappedTogether main menu

This update brings two major changes:

Login Page Fixes

In the previous version, I introduced login via Google Play Games to enable leaderboards and future online features.

However, this turned out to be a big mistake. According to the stats, many users were quitting the game before even reaching the main menu.

Now, if a player doesn’t have Google Play Games installed, they will still be taken to the main menu—just without bonus points tracking.

Russian Language Translation

I analyzed the user statistics, and here’s the breakdown:

  • The majority of players use English as their system language.
  • The second most common language is Russian.
  • The third most common is Hindi.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get to a Hindi translation, but I decided to add Russian support.

It wasn’t easy—there were issues with fonts that didn’t support Cyrillic and text sizes (Russian text is longer than English). But I managed to get it working!

Hopefully, this will increase engagement among Russian-speaking players!

What’s Coming in the Next Release?

In the next update, I plan to finally complete the fifth level.

I’m also working on a small tutorial—some players don’t realize that running depletes stamina or that canned food can be found in nearby houses.

Stay tuned!
