20 December 2023: The first TrappedTogether release is almost here!
I changed the concept again: yes, without dialogues and plot, the game turns into a shooter. But writing dialogues means creating an entire game universe, and that’s at least another half a year of work.
I still decided to release it as it is.
- So, the first version will be released very soon - a simple shooter. I really hope that some feedback will appear that will help us understand what users want and where to move next.
- The scenario mode of the game TrappedTogether, I think, will be released in another year or so.
- And the online mode, which was originally planned, will appear even later
The release is very close! I gave a pre-release version to my friend Michael to test. And he and I agreed on the following:
Remaining tasks for the release:
- Write some kind of preface explaining everything that is happening. Actually, when I started writing this preface, I got carried away and switched to creating dialogues. But now we need only a brief introduction.
- It's very dark and you can barely see the character. Yes, similar reviews have already appeared on Facebook comments. I deliberately created a gloomy atmosphere, but my eyes were already starting to hurt from such a dark picture. Perhaps a little lighting around the main character will fix everything.
* Hide the entire roof of the house when the player is inside the house.
A little controversial point:
- I removed the red health bars above the zombies. With them, zombies can be seen from a long distance and this is unrealistic. Now zombies sneak up unnoticed and when you hit a zombie you never know when it will run out of his HP. My friend Michael thinks that this is too much and HP needs to be shown.
What do you think?
